David and Monica have had dogs in their lives from the time they can remember. It was something that has always been part of both of their families. When David and Monica married they knew that along with children a dog would be part of our lives.
When David and Monica decided to start a family and eventually chose to homeschool their children they wanted a dog that would fit into that lifestyle. The dog would have to love being with their owners and would also love to be outside doing activities. They did their research for a breed that met the characteristics that would fit into their family. They finally decided that the Australian Shepherd would be the perfect dog for them.
As their children were young they wanted a dog that would be an appropriate size and during their research they discovered that there was a miniature version of the Australian Shepherd. The Miniature Australian Shepherd or Mini Aussie, as it is affectionally known, was the perfect dog for their family. Now it was time to find a breeder. Their search led them to a breeder near London, Ontario. They really liked what they were told about the Sire and Dam (parents) and decided to purchase their Miniature Australian Shepherd (Mini Aussie) puppy from them.
As their family is growing and moving on to their new lives they are left with their youngest son. They are not quite empty nesters but decided that this would be the perfect time in their lives to start to promote this wonderful breed for others to enjoy. They wanted to have their original dog, Scout, in their foundation lines. When they purchased Scout in 2005 little did they know that Scout's father would be the foundation for so many of the Champions in Canada today.
David and Monica are currently promoting the Miniature Australian Shepherd and the Miniature American Shepherd breed. If you read the history page you will understand the two breeds.
Monica is a past member of the Board of Directors for the Miniature American Shepherd of Canada. David and Monica currently live south of Ottawa, Ontario 4 minutes outside of the city limits on a beautiful 2 acre piece of cleared property that is surrounded by forest. They encourage everyone that is looking for a Miniature Australian Shepherd or Miniature American Shepherd puppy to come and visit them.
